I can remember, I think it’s been about a year or so, when I had the time and desire to actively seek and find new music which interested me. Soon, big bad school came around and blew my house down (which is a clever metaphor for saying I was busy with school) and music kind of took a back seat. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to take the time to just sit down and discover music that was new to me. I guess you could be a heckler and point out that if I really wanted to find new music I wouldn’t be sitting here writing a blog that very few people will read; but that argument leads me to discover that I don’t, in fact, have the drive to go out and do it.
My music collection consists of about 170 songs or so from about 100 artists. It was, before, so much larger. (Thats what she said). I had about 2500 songs from a ton of dudes in bands I had never heard of. I then made the conscious decision to delete EVERYTHING and start anew. At the time, I thought I was a genius. I was rediscovering my musical preferences. It worked for about a month until, like I said before, I became really busy.
Music is incredibly important. It is a multi-billion dollar industry. I just wish I could have more involvement with it.
