cheesy gordita crunch

Well, I'm a human male with access to the internet.

Curiosity Killed the Cat. Family Seeks Justice.

I enjoy taking a part in other people’s worlds.  It’s boring to live entirely in my own.  I love being a part of another person’s life.

To make a difference.

Basically, to be a friend.

When one can step back and indulge in the simplest pleasures in life I truly believe that they have found happiness.  Which brings me to what I felt like writing about.  Happiness.  Because I believe that happiness is not like other emotions; it cannot be achieved through the recognition of your peers, self fulfillment, or environment.  Happiness is the result of something much simpler.  It is a mindset.  I can’t make you be happy.  You have to make the choice to do so.  I honestly believe that.  Personal anecdote in three… two… one…

Eighth grade was not a good time for me.  Now that I think about it, I’ve never talked about this in detail with anybody.  I should do that some time, but lemme get right to what I’m trying to say.  I had a pretty darn good life in eighth grade.  My family had disposable income, I was strong in my religious faith, and I had some of the coolest friends in the world.  But I wasn’t happy.  Why?  Gee… I actually don’t know, but it was a choice, whether conscious or unconscious, on my part to be like that.

But all hope is not lost.  I am generally an optimistic person and I believe that YOU, yes, YOU can do something about your life.  When happiness is not initially apparent, why don’t you take the steps to change your situation?

“If life seems jolly rotten
There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing…
…[so] always look on the bright side of life”

Talk, talk, talk.  Humans are hardwired to be social creatures.  When things are looking down, there’s no need to frown (rhyme!).  Talk it out.  Talk to me!  Really, though, if it is not already apparent to you, talking is an amazing healer.  Expression too.  Whether you’re and artist, a writer, a dancer, or actor, expression is an amazing outlet for frustration and sadness which can put you in the direction of happiness.  For example, I run (well… I guess “ran”) to take away my preoccupations.  It’s just something that I do.

I hope whoever reads this has a wonderful day.  Today, and tomorrow, and the next day, to infinity and beyond.
